Here are my travel plans thus far:
Flying to Paris on June 4 and staying there for a few days. Have to work my way up to Amsterdam, as that is where I have to catch my return flight, which is June 15.
Then a few days in NYC and off to good old Nebraska, where I have to get a new driver's license. Soon after I hope to rent a car and head to the back roads of Montana. I want to be back in NYC by mid-August so I can start looking for a teaching job.
Here are the books I am going to take on my trip, all of which I have read more than once and I greatly look forward to getting back into each and every one of them.
1. "The Great Gatsby" - F. Scott Fitzgerald
2. "I Served the King of England" - Bohumil Hrabel
3. "I Was Amelia Earhart" - Jane Mendelsohn
4. "Masters of Atlantis" - Charles Portis
5. "The Winter of our Discontent" - John Steinbeck
6. "Pop. 1280" - Jim Thompson
And as always I will lugging around "Up in the Old Hotel" by Joseph Mitchell because Joseph Mitchell is God.
